Sidharth Malhotra to star in double role in Hindi remake of Tamil murder mystery Thadam

After Marjaavaan and wrapping up Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra has bagged his next project which is a murder mystery. The yet-untitled film will be produced by Murad Khetani. It is an official Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil murder mystery, Thadam.

This will be the first time Sidharth will star in a double role - a businessman and a small-time thief and gambler who is always looking to make some quick money along with his crony. The actor is currently working on his prep for the film and the makers are prepping to create two distinct looks for him. The film had plenty of moments that attracted Sidharth towards the script in addition to the double role.

Thadam, that released in March last year, is written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Inder Kumar. The film stars Arun Vijay in a double role along with Tanya Hope, Smruthi Venkat, and Vidya Pradeep in the lead roles. The murder of a young man named Akash creates confusion among a few cops when they find out that the one accused has a look-alike. The twists and turns with an unexpected climax really make the film interesting.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra will be next starring in Shershaah as Captain Vikram Batra which is releasing on July 3, 2020.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar: Ratna Pathak Shah to play Ranveer Singh's mother

Ranveer Singh and Yash Raj Films are coming together on what he has called ‘a miracle script’ penned by debutant writer-director Divyang Thakkar. After Boman Irani, who is set to play Ranveer's father in the film, veteran actress Ratna Pathak Shah has been roped for the role of his mother in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Divyang Thakkar was one of the proteges of Ratna Pathak Shah in theatre and was keen on bringing her on board for the film. Ratna said that a young actor approached her a few months ago with a script. She said that actors making movies can be tricky so she began reading the script and was thoroughly entertained by the end of it. She said that the story not only had a message but also has a heart.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will soon be seen on the big screen playing the role of ace skipper Kapil Dev in the Kabir Khan directorial. Apart from ‘83, Ranveer will also be seen in Karan Johar's magnum opus, Takht.

Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush to star in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re

Bollywood Hungama was first to inform that Sara Ali Khan has been roped in alongside Dhanush for Aanand L Rai's next directorial. In recent times, rumours were rife that Akshay Kumar has joined the cast too. Now, the film has been announced starring the three actors which is titled Atrangi Re.

Filmmaker Aanand L Rai said that it takes a secure actor like Akshay to do such a role. He said that the actor is always pushing the envelope and ready for challenges. On casting Sara and Dhanush as a pair, Aanand added that the fans will enjoy this new pairing as they bring freshness to the big screen.

AR Rahman will compose for the film whereas National Award winner Himanshu Sharma has written the film.

"I got Jawaani Jaaneman without an audition. Saif Ali Khan recommended me,” says Kubbra Sait

In 2018, the world was introduced to the magic of Cuckoo which was brought alive on the screen by actress Kubbra Sait. One might have not noticed her limited screen appearance in big films like Sultan and Ready. However, her persistence got her the Sacred Games and now she along with Sartaj is back for Jawaani Jaaneman. Kubbra Sait is now all set to play a character,  as she would like to put ‘ hot and pretty’ in the film being headlined by Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and debutante Alaya F. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kubbra Sait opened up about Jawaani Jaaneman and working with Saif Ali Khan.

Kubbra and Saif Ali Khan previously worked on the web series Sacred Games, though they did not share screen in the Netflix original series. However, her performance not only impressed the audience but looks like Saif Ali Khan also took notice. Talking about landing the role of Saif's confidante in Jawaani Jaaneman, Kubbra said, "I got this without an audition. I got a narration. Much later I found out that I was recommended by Saif. So, once Saif recommends you, the excitement has died and pressure has taken place and you have pressure to perform and do work also."

From the trailer of Jawaani Jaaneman, one gets to know that Kubbra plays a hairdresser and also a friend to Saif who listens to his problems. Talking further about her character, Kubbra said, "She is a hairdresser. All of us have a hairdresser in our life. Somebody who listens to you without judgement and keeps your secret. She is one of those secret keepers without judgement.”

Kubbra Sait who has transitioned from being a host to an actor,  spoke further about playing a best friend and how there is no fear of being stereotyped now. “If you were told 20 years ago, that you got the role of a best friend, people would say that for the next 40 years you will only play the role of a best friend. Thankfully, today's best friend or even a friend has so many shades of niceness and kindness. I remember reading an interview of Waheeda Rehman ji when she said that I don't want to play a regular mother, I want to play a different mother. And I was like this is such a smart thing to say because no two mother or no two friends are the same. For me this opportunity was fun. In my head I would say I am Saif’s girlfriend."

Not only is it new for Alaya F to perform alongside Saif, but same is the case with Kubbra. Talking about how it was working with Saif, Kubbra said, "He is awesome. He doesn't take himself too seriously. He makes it incredibly easy for people to work with him. But I think what stood out for me the most is that he is so collaborative on a script that before a scene you sit together and run your lines together and you are questioning till the last minute 'do I need to do this or say this'. And you put everything together. He is not the kind of person who says, ‘yaar mera do line nahi hai.  Mereko aur line do.’ None of that. And then in addition to all of that, his skill is very evident. Say like he takes 10 takes and he will know which take will make to the edit and that is the skills that will only come with experience. He knows exactly which will make it to the edit table and that is what blew my mind. To see him as a performer, as a person is outstanding."

Talking about Jawaani Jaaneman, Kubbra said, “There are films that have content and driven by content and you watch it to have something shipped inside you. And then you got a genre of film where everybody says leave your brain at home and to not question the film. Rarely do you get a film that does both. For me a Dil Chahta Hai is that kind of a contemporary film where you can have a lot of fun and yet it leaves something with you and ships something inside you. For me, Jawaani Jaaneman is also one of those happy go lucky film for which you don't need to leave your brains at home. Bring your brain with you and you will still enjoy the film and I think that is what is special about it.”

Jawaani Jaaneman is scheduled to hit the screens on January 31.

Karan Johar speaks about Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in Alia Bhatt - Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra

It's been more than a year since we last saw Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen. His last film, Zero, wasn't a box office hit and he even exited the Rakesh Sharma biopic. Meanwhile, last year, he shot for a cameo in Brahmastra that stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.

Speaking of his role, Karan Johar recently said that he didn't want to reveal anything about his character but he along with Alia, Ranbir and Ayan Mukerji are extremely grateful for him coming on board and sharing his visions and inputs. He said that the energy that SRK brings with him on set is unparalleled.

Karan Johar also said that they will announce the release date of Part 1 of Brahmastra really soon. Speaking of the franchise, Karan also teased that Ayan Mukerji has the structure of both parts ready along with the writing part that is firmly in place. He said that Ayan has been working on it every single day for the last five years. He further said that this is Ayan's brainchild and that he received tremendous support from Alia, Ranbir, and Amitabh Bachchan. Karan Johar concluded that he has seen Ayab Mukerji work and create something that Indian cinema has never seen before.

SRK has previously worked with Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which was helmed by Karan Johar. The superstar had a cameo as he played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's ex-husband. Meanwhile, Alia and SRK worked in Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi followed by Alia's cameo in Zero.

Brahmastra, produced by Dharma Productions, is scheduled for summer 2020 release.

Priyanka Chopra joins the cast of Keanu Reeves starrer Matrix 4

Priyanka Chopra is all set to join one of the most successful franchises of all time, Matrix. The actress is signed for the fourth installment of the film which is being produced by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow. While she is in negotiations, she joins a huge group of people who are already signed on for Matrix 4.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Neil Patrick Harris are also starring in Matrix 4. Lana Wachowski is directing the film. The film is releasing on May 21, 2021, same day as Keanu's other film John Wick 4.

Priyanka Chopra already has several projects in the pipeline this year including two Netflix movies - The White Tiger and We Can Be Heroes. It was recently announced that she is starring alongside Richard Madden in the Amazon series Citadel from Russo Brothers. She has a wedding film in works with Mindy Kaling, a biopic on Ma Anand Sheela, and an Amazon reality series in collaboration with Nick Jonas in works too.

Trivikrams 3 Back to Back Films with Mega Heroes?

Wizard of words Trivikram, who is riding high on the industry hit of Ala Vaikkunthapurramuloo, is likely to direct three back to back films with mega heroes. 

Trivikram's immediate next is going to be a commercial family entertainer with Young Tiger NTR as a hero. The film's release date is locked to Sankranthi, 2021. Thereupon, Trivikram will team up with Mega Power Star Ram Charan for the first time. The film will be bankrolled by Pawan Kalyan Creative Works and Haarika and Hassine Creations jointly. 

And then, Trivikram collaborates Megastar Chiranjeevi for a film under Konidela Productions Company and Haarika and Hassine Creations. 

Thereby, Trivikram will work with Stylish Star Allu Arjun again.

Nevertheless, the details of aforementioned projects are awaited and which will take sufficient time. Right now, Trivikram is celebrating the gigantic success of AVPL.

Lokesh Turns Moddabbayi with Amma Vodi?

Students who do not understand the concept and make falls assumptions on those concepts are called 'Moddabbayilu' (dull students).

Meanwhile, some anti fans of Nara Lokesh felt the TDP's MLC turned 'Moddabbayi' with Amma Vodi scheme. 

It is a known news that the AP government deposited Rs.15000 each to the bank accounts of those mothers who are sending their kids to schools. However, the government released a G.O. in which it requested the mothers to give back Rs.1000 to the school management committees for the maintenance of toilets, sanitary and to appoint an 'Aaya' with Rs.4000 salary. However, these donations were made optional. 

This is indeed a good idea as most of the government schools suffer lack of sufficient funds for maintenance of toilets. Those who are are interested can donate Rs.1000 while the rest may stay calm as there is no compulsion. 

However, Lokesh didn't understand the concept and tried to politicize the issue with a series of tweets. 

"అబద్దాల ఒడిలో రివర్స్ టెండరింగ్ మొదలుపెట్టారు @ysjagan గారు. నాడు నేడు కార్యక్రమం పేరుతో జరుగుతున్న వింతలు చూస్తుంటే మైండ్ బ్లాంక్ అవుతుంది. నాడు టీడీపీ హయాంలో ప్రభుత్వ ఖర్చుతో పాఠశాలల్లో మెరుగైన వసతులు కల్పించి నిర్వహిస్తే నేడు ప్రజలకు ఇచ్చిన సొమ్ము వెనక్కి తీసుకొని పాఠశాలల్లో మెరుగైన వసతులు కల్పిస్తాం అని జగన్ సర్కార్ అంటోంది. అది అమ్మ ఒడి కాదు అబద్దాల ఒడి అని ముందే చెప్పాం. ముందు స్కూల్ కి వెళ్లే ప్రతి బిడ్డకి అన్నారు, మాట మార్చి కేవలం తల్లులకు మాత్రమే అన్నారు. ఆ తరువాత సగం మంది తల్లులకే వర్తిస్తుంది అని మడమ తిప్పారు. అబద్దాల ఒడి పేరుతో రూపాయి కేటాయించకుండా బడుగు, బలహీన వర్గాలకు చెందాల్సిన రూ.6,500 కోట్లు పక్కదారి పట్టించారు. పాఠశాలల్లో పారిశుద్యం పేరుతో ఇప్పుడు అమ్మల దగ్గర నుంచి వెయ్యి కొట్టేయడానికి ప్రభుత్వం స్కెచ్ వేసింది," Lokesh tweeted.

Saif Ali Khan confirms his next film LAFDEBAAZ co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday

Saif Ali Khan is currently enjoying the success of his last release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in which he starred alongside Ajay Devgn. The actor is currently is promoting Jawaani Jaaneman which is his co-production. With that being said, he has confirmed the title of his next project.

It has already been reported that Saif Ali Khan will star alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment production. While the plot and character details have been kept under wraps, it's been revealed that the film is titled Lafdebaaz.

It was reported that he is playing the role of Ananya's father. He said that in the film, his character is a dysfunctional, wild, slightly crazy father that makes it quite interesting.

Interestingly, he is also starring with Siddhant Chaturvedi in Bunty Aur Babli 2. He will reunite with Rani Mukerji and Siddhant is paired opposite Sharvani Wagh.

Meanwhile, he also confirmed that he will do Vikram Vedha remake too. His film Jawaani Jaaneman is set for January 31, 2020 release.

Megastar Guesses First, NTR Wishes First

Tollywood's latest industry hit film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo team interacted press on Monday. Stylish Star Allu Arjun, mega producer Allu Aravind and wizard of words Trivikram shared their views for various questions posed by the journos. 

Stylish Star said that the film was watched by Megastar Chiranjeevi in a special show exclusively screened for him on the first day of film's release. "Having watched the film, Chiranjeevi garu anticipated that the film would create records. And now, his prediction is proved right," Allu Arjun said. 

While Megastar anticipated the film's range first, Young Tiger NTR conveyed the first wishes on the film's success. Trivikram divulged that NTR had called him up straightaway, after the first show was screened in the Overseas. "NTR called me on the late night of 11th of January and he was the first one to have conveyed wishes on the film's success," Trivikram said.

Meanwhile, AVPL crossed Rs.140+ crores as of now and is likely to breach Rs.150 crore share mark in its long run.

Saif Ali Khan confirms being approached for Vikram Vedha remake alongside Aamir Khan

Could we see a reunion between Sameer and Akash from Dil Chahta Hai? There were reports that suggested that Saif Ali Khan was approached to play to the bad guy in the Vikram Vedha remake. Interestingly, his Dil Chahta Hai co-star Aamir Khan has been approached for the protagonist's role.

When asked Saif Ali Khan on the speculations around the film, he confirmed that he has indeed been approached for the film. But, he has not been asked for the role of the bad guy. He said that it is too early to talk about the project but he is looking forward to the film the most.

If the earlier reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan will play the role of most wanted gangster Vedha played by Vijay Sethupathi whereas Saif will reprise R Madhavan's role as a cop. The original director Pushkar Gayatri will helm the project.

The suspense thriller was a surprise blockbuster of 2017. Y Not Studios and Neeraj Pandey will produce the Hindi remake.
